Straight division uses Urdhwa Tiryak sutra

Straight division uses Urdhwa Tirya

Straight division uses Urdhwa Tiryak sutra and this is used in all cases. Hello friends I am Dr Prema B Sejekan. This is the 20th class of Mathematics Tricks
and Fun. Straight Division is simple and easy to apply oneline mental method. Here,we are using the digits of
the divisor , in 2 groups.ie if 73, we write 7, 3 is written above it. and divide as described .

Here we have two examples. The first one 4096 to be divided by 64As said earlier the divisor we will write as 6with 4written above it. we will arrange the dividend
into two groups. 409 and second gp with single digit
since the top one of the divisor is single digit.now we
will take first 2 digits of the divisor 40 to be divided by 6.we 6x6=36 which is written on the top of 40.Quotient
6 written below .now balance 4 written near 9.so it becomes 49.now we take 4 and multiply with 6 which gives 24 written below 49 and bance 25.This 25 is
divided by 6 which gives 4.4 is wri5en on the quotient
side and 24 on top of 49.Balance of 25-24 gives 1
written near 6 which makes it 16.now top 4 multiplied
by quotient 4 gives 16 so ba!ance is zero.
The second example is also done similarly.

Here there are two examples
In the first example, the balance 52 from which 18
( same we got by multiplying quotient 6 with 3 ) is deducted which gives 34as final balance.
In the second example 695432 to be divided by 57.Here we divide the dividend into 2 gps.69543 and 2.then 5
with 7written on top of it. Divide 6 by 5 quotient 1 and balance 1 which is written near ,9 to make it 19.now 1×7gives 7 written below 19 balance 12 which is to be divided by 5. 5×2=10 written above 19. Now 12-10 gives
2 this we insert near 5 gives 25...7×2=14,this is
subtracted from 25 gives 11 .now dividing this by 5
gives 2 balance 1 placed near 4 gives 14.now multiply
top 7 with 2 gives 14 balance zero we put 0 on
quotient side and next digit 3 is takenwhich again is smaller
than 5 so we put 0 on the quotient side and 3 is
taken to the other side written near 2 which gives a balance of 32.quotient 12200

Here we have have two examples. The two are a little different.
First one 1638 and 4 to be divided by 12 with 8 written above 12.now 16divided by 12 gives quotient 1
balance 4 Written near 3 to make 43.1×8=8 deducted from 43 gives 35 to be divided by 12.24 written above
 43 ,35-24 gives 11 writen near 8 to give 118. now
quotient 2× 8 givves 16 deducted from 118 gives a balance of 102. Divindig this with 12 gives 8 on
quotient side and 96 written above 118 and 102-96
gives 6 as balance taken to the other side near 4 .now quotient 8×with top 8 gives 64 with 0 balance.
In the second example we should divide up to 3
decimal places.here we divide as usual and the
 remainder
side we continue the division as we did.here to get 3 decimal places we added two 0s near the single digit
of the bance side ifthe dividend..the process of
 division continued as usual.

Here we will divide 220 by 52we put 3more 0s near
the single digit 0 of the dividend to convert into 4 dvimals.dividibg 22 by 5 gives 4 as quotient and ,4×5=
 20, balance 2kept near 0 becomes 20 quotient 4×2
 on
the top gives 8 on deduction from 20 gives 12Divide
12 by 5 gives 2as quotient and 5×2 is 10 deducted
from 12 gives again 2 as remainder written near 0
which becomes 20.now quotient 2multoplied by 2 onthetop divisor side gives 4 .subtracted from 20
 gives 16 Again dividing 16 by 5 gives 3 5×3=15
balance put near 0 to make 10.3×2 gives 6 deducted
from 10 gives 4 now 4 is smaller than 5 so put 0 on quotient side and 4 is taken up to make 40 .Now 0×2
is 0 so we get 40 to be divided by 5 gives 8 as
quotient and balance 0 so the answer is 4.2308
Here we have to divide 7.3by 53.we write 7.30000on dividend side since we should get up to 5 decimal places.this is to be divided by 5 with 3 on the top.
Since7 3 is smaller than 53 we start putting decimal
sign ie0.7divided by 5 gives 1 and balance 2 in front
of 3.continue division as usual and the answer is
0.137736

We will continue with the division in the next class

11th Lesson -Nikhilam sutra-corollaries

11th Lesson of  mathematics tricks and fun       Hello friends ,today we are going to stud y Nikhilam Sutra in multiplication. I am Dr Prema b sejekan.  Nikhilam Sutra says Nikhilam Navatascharamam Dasatah.Means All from Nine and Last from Ten . Nikhilam sutra has upasutras corollaries and sub-corollaries.All of them and their application  in multiplication will be discussed here.  Here  applications of Nikhilam Sutra in general is shown.Let us take the first among the 7 examples. In this, the first question is  9 times 9.working base is 10 . So complement of 9 from 10 is 1.   1×1 is 1 and  9-1 is 8. The answer is 81.2nd example is 7× 6 , so complement of  7 from 10 is 3. Complement of 6 is 4 so we will write 7-3× by 6-4 so ,3×4 is 12 and 7-4,is 3 .Adding the carry overs answer is 42.  Rest all examples are with different bases ie  100,1000 base  done in the similar way. ...
