Hello friends I am Dr Prema B Sejekan.This is the 20th class of Mathematics Tricks  and Fun. Straight Division is simple and easy to apply oneline mental method. Here,we are using the digits of  the divisor , in 2 groups.ie if 73, we write 7, 3 is written above it. and divide as described . Here we have two examples.The first one 4096 to be divided by 64As said earlier the divisor we will write as 6with 4written above it. we will arrange the dividend  into two groups. 409 and second gp with single digit  since the top one of the divisor is single digit.now we  will take first 2 digits of the divisor 40 to be divided by 6.we 6x6=36 which is written on the top of 40.Quotient  6 written below .now balance 4 written near 9.so it becomes 49.now we take 4 and multiply with 6 which gives 24 written below 49 and bance 25.This 25 is ...

This is the 19th lesson of mathematics  tricks and fun tutorial I am Dr Prema B Sejekan. We studied in the earlier class , Nikhilam sutra which is  used when dividing with big digits like 6,7,8,9 . Since  the complement of these digits are small, the division becomes easier. Now how will we divide with small  digit numbers? Here comes the paravartya sutrafor our help .  Paravartya yojayet means transpose and apply.we  use this when divisors are with small digit numbers. we have to change the sign with change of side I have shown here. Division by Nikhilam, 18 mathematics tricks and fun  In the current system, We need to use trial digits when dividing with big divisors.in the vedic system We can  add or subtract for division which makes it easy. Here there are 4 methods of which argumental division  I am omitting since it is good for algebraical divisions  and not for arithmetical computations. (1)Nikhilam method used for big numbers,  (2)paravartya method for smaller digits.Best of all  these and (3)quick one is Straight Division. Nikhilam Sutra is used as said earlier when divisor is  with bigger digits like 6,7,8,90.we should find the complement of this and divide.  Here we have 3 examples. First 2 are two digit  numbers to be divided by 9.The third one is three digit dividend. In all these divisor is 9.The complement  of 9 is 1.  Maths Tricks and Fun 15-digital-sum Hello friends today we will study how multiplication becomes easy by the use of digital sum .What is  digital sum? It is the sum of the digits of a number  . Here its use in multiplication of big same digit  numbers ,their squaring and cubing are discussed.  Here use of digital sum in squaring of 4digit number  is shown the digit is 4 ie (4444) are to be squared..so  first we multiply the two outer fours 4×4 is 16 . We will write 1 then a gap and 6.Digital sum of 16 is 7 . So we have totally 8 digits in the answer.and outer digits we  have written and three digits each from either side we have to fillup.For this we will add 7 from either side  and progress Arithmetically . so 1+7 is 8,8+7 is15,  15+7is 22 stop here we have finished 4 digits on this  side .we will add 7 to the other side. 6+7 is 13, 13+7  is 20, 20+7 is 27.
